Delete your account

Last updated: 3 June 2026

This page explains how to request deletion of your TrustRoute account and associated personal data. It applies to the TrustRoute mobile app (com.prividapp).

Delete in the app (recommended)

  1. Open TrustRoute and sign in.
  2. Go to You (settings tab).
  3. Under Help & legal, tap Delete account.
  4. Tap Delete my account.
  5. Type your @handle exactly as shown, then confirm.
  6. You will be signed out when deletion completes.

Request by email

If you cannot access the app, email trustrouteapp@gmail.com with the subject line Delete my TrustRoute account. Include:

  • Your @handle
  • The phone number registered on the account (if possible)

We may reply to verify ownership before processing the request.

Delete some data without deleting your account

You can change or remove parts of your data in the app without deleting the whole account:

  • Profile: edit or remove display name, optional email, and photo (Settings → Edit profile).
  • Contacts: remove or change how someone appears in your list.
  • Business messages: unsubscribe from a company (Company updates → Unsubscribe).
  • Blocked users: manage blocked contacts in Settings.

For other requests (export, correction, or deletion of specific data), contact trustrouteapp@gmail.com.

What we delete or anonymise

When you delete your account, we promptly:

  • Deactivate the account and free your @handle
  • Remove or anonymise phone number, display name, and avatar
  • Revoke login sessions and refresh tokens
  • Delete connections you created (your contact list entries)
  • Revoke reachability channels and QR links tied to your account
  • Cancel pending OTP sessions for your phone number

What we may keep

  • Anonymised audit records (for example call or trust history) where identifiers are removed and the row cannot reasonably be linked back to you — used for fraud prevention, safety, and legal compliance.
  • Messages and media may also exist on third-party infrastructure we use to deliver chat and calls (for example messaging or realtime providers). We process deletion requests for data we control; provider retention may apply separately.
  • Data we must keep where law or a valid legal hold requires it.

Other users may still see a placeholder such as “Deleted Account” if you had previously interacted with them; your personal details will not remain visible on your profile.

Retention period

  • Active accounts: data is kept while your account is active and as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • After deletion: personal identifiers are anonymised without undue delay. Security and operational logs may be retained for a limited period (typically up to 90 days unless a longer period is required by law or an active investigation).
